Usan people's knowledge

Written under the supervision of Hanoru-Solm, taking from His infinite wisdom and knowledge of the true history. This text may be regarded as the Third revelation of the Sacred scripture Hanoru-Solm-O-Ssum

                                                                     Isabu (이사부)

From the time of the Usan nation's invasion by Silla under the commands of General Isabu, to the modern age, the Usan ethnic group has been under constant threat of complete decimation, and this goal has nearly been completely accomplished. There is virtually no records left, and all evidence of the Usan culture, language, or any trace at all has been erased from existence. The current South Korean Government has been most harsh in their actions against these people, leaving only around 5% of the Usan population that was left from the Japanese occupation.  In this text, the crimes of all governments and nations that have ever had control over the Usan ethnic group will be exposed, and the Usan language and culture will be rescued from certain destruction.

Isabu's Invasion

In the 《Samguk Sagi》(Silla Annals Book 4, Volume 4, Reign of King Jijeung 智證 and Maripgan 麻立干), It is written that Usanguk 우산국 was invaded in June of 512, and that the people chose to surrender after they had caught sight of wooden lions that Isabu threatened to release upon them. In reality, this is entirely untrue, this was only written to make the Usan people look cowardly, when they did put up a fight for several weeks before surrendering. Isabu himself suffered a piece of his ear being cut off, and a puncture in his abdomen by rebels on the island.

Incorporation into Goryeo

It is written in the 《Goryeosa》  that when the island was suffering Invasions by the Jurchen peoples, many Usan people were sent to live in the mainland so that they were safe. This is another falsehood. In the lost literary text 《于山國世記》, written by Kim Hyun-ji and his court of scholars under King Wangsun (왕순王詢) around 1020, it is recorded that the Usan people had allied with the Jurchen, and that they were planning to take over the mainland using their combined knowledge and manpower. It is also written that there were already several hundred Usan people living in the Yanggwang and Jeolla regions, who were living in townships founded during the Mahan Confederacy, to which they had moved due to a series of droughts on Usan island. This meant that a rebellion could break out at any moment, which was unacceptable. To take control of these 'rebels', they were not being rehoused, they were put in political prisons and left to starve.

Joseon Dynasty

Over the several hundred years following the incorporation into Goguryeo, only a small amount of texts are written about the Usan people. At one point during the Joseon dynasty under King Yi Hwang (이황李晄), a Seonbi 선비 (a scholar) living in who had grown old and tired with the current government power wrote a book in rebellion, titled 《우산어노걸대 / 于山語老乞大》, an Usan language translation of the Nogoldae. The scholar, only known by his pen-name Yarangchi 야량치, had witnessed the persecution of the Usan people with his own eyes. His dwelling was located about 5 ri (里) away from an Usan township which had around 12 people living there. One day during the summer, the scholar was walking down a path intending to draw water from a well nearby when he saw a group of 5 men riding horses. They were sent by the Police Bureau (포도청), but there were no criminals in that town, there were only labourers and peasants who did not have anything they could possibly steal from each other. The scholar watched as one of the men dismounted his horse and confronted one of the labourers, who was lugging a cart full of barley to his house, until he was beheaded by one of the men. The scholar started to write the Usan-eo Nogeoldae in retaliation, and in the end he and all of his works, including the Nogeoldae,  were destroyed by government officials.

Japanese Occupation

At the end of the Goryeo dynasty, there were an estimated 10,000 Usan people left. Due to the discrimination, none of them were truly able to assimilate ever, and if a Korean was found having relations with an Usan, they risked several years in a prison. In 1910, the Japanese invaded Korea, and during this time, the Usan people were largely treated the same way as the Koreans were. Several massacres happened over the 35 year occupation, leaving around 2000 Usan people left, and several Intangible Heritage items of the Usan people were either destroyed, stolen, or simply disappeared.

Korean War

During the Korean war, the attitude towards the Usan ethnic group changed significantly, especially on the Northern, Soviet-backed side. During the period where Southern, American-backed forces were pushed into the 'Pusan Perimeter', several Usan people were taken back North to Pyongyang, where they would stay for the rest of their lives. After the war, these "captured Usan" were given special townships, with homes to live in and farmland where grain could be cultivated. During the 'drive south' several documents from the Joseon and Goryeo dynasty were recovered, all found in caves and behind walls of old dwellings where they would be kept safe. These documents detailed the nature and government of the Usan Nation prior to the Silla invasion. In these scriptures, several ancient truths were revealed. Many of these documents described as being written by "Sin-ryeong Hanoru-Solm". These manuscripts greatly influenced the ideology of the North Korean state, leading to the adoption of Juche, an ideology based off of the paradise of the Usan Nation. Also told in these manuscripts is the truth about the origin of life, where the Usan island is the location of the pond of life, and where the first primitive beings originated.

Modern Period

After the Korean War, the historical state towards Usan people was not forgotten, and was adopted by the people who had taken power. During the "Second Korean War", several Usan people were taken into their only place of refuge by North Korean intelligence, and when the South Korean Government found out the reason for these 'abductions', a genocide was ordered. In November 1958, a mass killing of Usan people happened in Hwangsan, Asan City, where 8 people were killed. In August 1973, 3 Usan people were killed by car crashes, where the drunk drivers were set up by the South Korean Government in order to be at the right place and at the right time to hit the victim. In more recent times, biological warfare has been used against the Usan people, including a type of 'sterilisation' in which an Usan person eats a genetically modified fruit, (usually an orange, or any citrus containing juice vesicles, since those store the 'toxin') and any reproductive cell they produce will become genetically modified, so that whatever child is born of an Usan mother or father, will have deformities due to the modification of the Homeobox gene, causing extreme deformities and usually leads to death inside the womb.
